The carrier daughters , if married to men with normal vision , will have normal daughters but half their sons will be colour blind , the other half being normal . यदि इस प्रभावी जीन का वहन करने वाली बेटियों की शादी सामान्य दृष्टि के पुरुषों से होती है तो उनकी बेटियां सामान्य होंगी , परंतु उनके Zबेटों में आधे वर्णांध होंगे तथा आधे सामान्य .

With dominant genes , the increase to the new level will take only a few genera- tions if the penetrance is high , more if it is low . प्रभावी जीन कुछ ही पीढ़ियों में इस स्तर तक पहुंच जाते हैं.यह अवधि विकिरणों की भेदकता के अनुसार कम या अधिक हो सकती है.संपूर्णत : अप्रबल जीनों को इस स्तर तक पहुंचने में बहुत अधिक समय लग जाता है .
